For half a century, the club has proudly, selflessly served the Kingsburgh community.

Reflecting on the milestone, club president Tony Marron said, “Reaching 50 years is a proud moment for our club. The Kingsburgh Lions have been at the heart of the community since 1975, and today we not only celebrate our past achievements but also look forward to continuing our service in the years ahead. I want to thank our members, past and present, whose commitment has kept the Lions’ spirit alive in Kingsburgh for half a century.”
The club was officially chartered on September 19, 1975, with 22 members and has since dedicated five decades to the community in which it serves.

At the time, Lions Club International was a mens-only organisation, with women only permitted to join as full members from 1987.
District governor of District 410E, Lion Avril Hobbs, was the honoured guest. At the ceremony, past presidents Moira Rigby and Helen Toward shared highlights of the club’s rich history.
During proceedings, Jenny Perkins was inducted as the latest member of the club. Following the luncheon, guests enjoyed entertainment and danced to tunes provided by DJ Sunshine.
