After getting a distress call from a Lotus Park resident about a sick cat in their yard, Nirvana Ramlall of Pet Rescue Isipingo found the cat which had an infection in the right eye. She named him Zak.
“He was in a very sickly state for a feral cat. He even let my team and I pick him up and put him in a carrier. This is rare for a feral cat. He was not very mobile and even post-rescue, he is not eating. He is currently admitted to Montclair Animal Hospital, where he will have to receive surgery to clean up his infected tissue before being put on medication,” said Ramlall.

She said that it is unlikely he has an eye left beneath the infection.
Nirvana will be boarding Zak for recovery until she can find a sanctuary to send him to.
“Despite my veterinary bill being exceptionally high, I couldn’t turn my back on him. He seems to be an older boy who has shown remarkable resilience living on the streets. Please consider donating to Zak’s vet bill and boarding fees, which will cover essential tests before he begins his recovery journey. Every contribution brings us closer to giving Zak a second chance at a happy life,” said Ramlall.
