New City man goes missing after funeral

Mthokozisi Caphas Mhlongo was last seen wearing black jeans, a black t-shirt, and brown shoes.

MTHOKOZISI Caphas Mhlongo of New City, KwaMkhutha, was last seen on December 8, 2025, after he left to go to the shops, and a missing person’s docket has been opened at the KwaMakhutha police station.

Investigating officer, Warrant Officer Njabulo Maphumulo, said Mhlongo disappeared on the day of his neighbour’s funeral, who had been stabbed by another man. Maphumulo said Mhlongo’s brother had also been stabbed during the same altercation but survived.

“The missing man was a witness to the crime. After the funeral, he said he was going to the shops, but he never came back,” said Maphumulo.

He was last seen wearing black jeans, a black t-shirt, and brown shoes. Anyone with information can contact the investigating officer on 083 717 6687 or 031 905 1119.
