Woman reported missing after failing to arrive in Isipingo

Sookoo is the mother of a six-year-old child, and her disappearance has left her family deeply distressed.

A 39-YEAR-OLD Merebank woman has been reported missing after failing to arrive at her aunt’s home in Isipingo on the morning of January 12.

Leosha Sookoo was last seen leaving her home in Merebank at around 11:00 on January 12, when she took a taxi to Isipingo. She was dressed in blue jeans and a white top and was carrying groceries, her cellphone and money at the time.

According to her family, Sookoo never reached her destination and did not return home, prompting growing concern for her safety. Later that evening, at approximately 18:30, her cellphone rang twice and was briefly answered before going to voicemail. A return call was then received from a private number, but there has been no contact since.

Sookoo is the mother of a six-year-old child, and her disappearance has left her family deeply distressed. A missing person case has been opened with the police under case number CAS 27/01/2026.

Anyone with information on Sookoo’s whereabouts or who may have seen her in the Isipingo or Mulakazi areas is urged to contact their nearest police station immediately, or call 10 111.
