These South Coast clinics have the new HIV prevention injection

Once every six months, the patient will be tested, and if an HIV-negative result is received, they will receive the injection.

A TOTAL of seven clinics on the South Coast were included in the list of 74 facilities in the province where people can get Lenacapavir, a groundbreaking injection that significantly reduces the chances of HIV infection.

Launched by President Cyril Ramaphosa on June 5, Lenacapavir is a pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), and it is administered as a twice-yearly injection for HIV-negative individuals.

Once every six months, a person will be tested, and if an HIV-negative result is received, they will get the injection, together with one pill on the first day, and a second pill on the second day.
