Electricity shutdown for substation upgrade
Customers who did not experience a power outage by 09:00 may assume that their electricity supply will not be affected.
THE eThekwini Municipality has announced a planned electricity supply interruption affecting the Plangweni Substation for today (August 6) from 08:30 to 16:30.

The outage is required to allow the City’s Electricity and Energy Directorate to continue commissioning the critical protection system as part of the substation upgrade project.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to make the necessary arrangements for the extended interruption. Customers who did not experience a power outage by 09:00 may assume that their electricity supply will not be affected.
The municipality also reminds the public to treat all electrical installations as live during the outage, as power may be restored without prior notice.
