Cow mooing in the mud rescued by Amanzimtoti SPCA
Stuck in mud for around three days, a cow was rescued at Fountain Head, Umkomaas, by Amanzimtoti SPCA and a resourceful bunch of farmers.
IT WAS equal parts bizarre and heartwarming when Amanzimtoti SPCA inspector Luke Keyser and field officer, Delani Mncwenyi, ventured out to Fountain Head, Umkomaas, on July 26, where a cow had been stuck in the mud for around three days.

Keyser explained that SPCA received a call from a concerned community member who said that a female cow had been caught in a sticky situation for days.
“We went out to Fountain Head and when there, got assistance from some farmers with a tractor and managed to pull her out. Once free from the mud, she drank some water and grazed for a bit before taking off into the sugar cane field, where we then lost sight of her,” said Keyser.
He added that he had hoped to follow her to her home to keep an eye on her recovery, but she completely disappeared.
