NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR VARIATION OF ATMOSPHERIC EMISSION LICENCE: REFERENCE NUMBER AEL056/S3 Notice is hereby given of an application for the variation of Vopak Terminal Durban (Pty) Ltd`s (Vopak) Atmospheric Emission Licence (AEL) for their Farewell and King site in terms of Section 46 of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act, 2004 (Act 39 of 2004) (NEM: AQA). AEL Reference Number: AEL056/S3 AEL Issue Date: 10 October 2023 Applicant: Vopak Terminal Durban (Pty) Ltd Location: 105 Taiwan Road, Island View, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Vopak proposes the `removal of seven aboveground storage tanks and installation of seven larger sized tanks for the storage of Diesel and Jet-Fuel. The change will result in an increase to the combined storage capacity of petroleum products and throughput capacity of the facility. An application will be submitted to the AEL Licensing Authority, in this regard the eThekwini Municipality, for the variation of the AEL. Any interested and/or affected party who wishes to submit written representations on, or to object to, the application may do so within 30 days from the date of publication of this notice.
