EDITOR – I have followed the events regarding the removal of our statues with amazement and despair.
Are these statues not part of the history of this country or does the history of SA only start in 1994?
Will the removal, desecration and destruction of the statues obliterate past historical events? We as a nation will only be united once the cultural values and historical events of the past are acknowledged and respected by all fellow South Africans. The past despicable events speak of mindless acts by the so-called ‘future’ of this country. The mere thought that the future of SA are in the uncapable and destructive hands of a certain political party leader and his followers are horrific. May God protect us all.
