EDITOR – I was horrified to see the photographs of such majestic fish being raped from our seas, as depicted on page 5 of the Sun edition dated 5 August.
This is no different to rhino poaching.
It takes years and years for these fish to grow to the sizes shown. I hope this is not going to be taken lightly. Commercial fishermen complain about the long line trawlers decimating our ocean, but it’s happening in our own back yard.
I firmly believe that they should be given huge fines for this greedy act. No ski boat club should accept them as members. Shame on them for the huge grins on their faces.
