Silver Dollar shows no mercy on pool table

SAPPHIRE Coast Pool League results for Wednesday, 19 February:

The very skilled Silver Dollar A team showed little mercy to Warnerdoone’s D team. Deon Pool and Nico Davies each took a full house with singles matches. Barry Hill and Petrus Naudé took three games each.

Doubles matches were shared 1-1. Silver Dollar walked away with a 15-3 win.

The Silver Dollar C away team’s André Oosthuizen took the first game, lifting their spirits. Sapphire Cove B returned in full force, taking the first round 3-1. The second and fourth rounds played out even. By the fourth round Tyrone Faxon and Lisa Voster had each taken three of their four games. The final score was to the home team, winning 11-7.

Moulin Rouge D fought Warnadoone A bravely, to win the first round 3-1. By the second round Warner A had evened the score, pushing on to a final 10-6 in the singles. The away team’s Megan Brett and Willie Verster managed to take three of their four games. Both doubles matches were clinched by the away team with Warnadoone A’s final score 12-6.

The away team of Sapphire Cove A against Boardroom B saw Glen Fryer winning his four games in the singles, with Mark Russell and Deon Kepler each taking three of their four singles games. With the away team taking all the points in the third round and then sharing the doubles games, Sapphire Cove A walked away with glory 13-5.

Reef A fought gallantly against the dominating Reef D. Although the first round drew even, the second and fourth rounds showed the skill of the away team denying a single point to Reef A. Barry de Beer took a full house with Johnny Roets, Wayne Mackay and Clint Mooiman each taking three of their four games. Final score to the away team of Reef B 14-4.

Warnerdoone B and Moulin Rouge C saw their first round even 2-2. By the end of the singles games Kevin Kotze, Jason Escorcio and Roxanne Strachan had each won three of their four games, as did the opposition’s Siyabonga Zungu. The two points elusive to Moulin Rouge C guaranteed the Warnerdoone D 10-8 win.

Every Wednesday night from 7pm, 8 ball pool league matches are played at Moulin Rouge, Nautical Mile, Boardroom, The Reef, Warnadoone Angling Club, Sapphire Cove, Silver Dollar and Ollies.

A big thank you goes to Moulin Rouge owner Tanya de Wit, who supplied salads for the SA women’s team meeting this past Sunday.
