More gold for Monica [VIDEO]
Plus she claimed a new record in the 200m individual medley.
Toti swimmer, Monica Botha claimed eight gold medals plus a new record in the 200m individual medley at the KZN TYR Westville Sprints at Kings Park pool at the weekend.
Her medals were for girls eight and under 100m freestyle – 1.25.62; 50m butterfly – 44.06; 100m breaststroke – 1.59.18; 50m backstroke – 45.02; 200m IM – 3.29.50 (new record); 100m backstroke – 1.39.29; 50m freestyle – 38.87 and 50m breaststroke – 54.09.
“This was Monica’s first long course sprints,” said her mother, Marinda Stuiver.
“Last month she battled with a flu virus and two weeks later with bronchitis, but she managed to pull through with only one week to prepare before the Westville sprints.”
