Rally to kick up Clansthal dirt

The racing will be hard and fast.

Finningley Estates in Clansthal hosts the KZN rally circus on Saturday, 26 September.

The racing will be hard and fast.

The car section is currently led by the Tazz of Chris de Wit and Amanzimtoti’s Brian Clifton, but the racing has been tight this year, with very small margins between places.

The Polo of Bertus Labuschagne and Peter Chadwick is right on the pace, as is the Alan Hooper and Wayne Westwood Corolla.

Then there is the roaring, snarling Skyline of Trevor Graham and Glen Goddard in the mix. This beast is always spectacular and with some recent modifications, could be difficult to beat. It certainly will be worth watching.

Currently Umkomaas’ Matthew Hendy leads the quad section, again with a gaggle of people to keep him honest.

Toti’s Nicky Botes should be up there again. So will Hugo Timmerman, Arnie Meiring, Bronson Burger and the wailing two-stroke of Johannes Horn.

This is going to fast, frantic and real fun. Don’t miss it.

To get there, travel to the Clansthal Caravan Park along the R102. At the Clansthal intersection turn inland and immediately left into Finningley Drive. Follow the road, which turns right after about 200m and continue on to the dirt road. Follow this road for about one kilometre to the service park, where spectator information will be available.
