Busy weekend for WSLC

All duty and competition members to watch the whatsapp messages with regard to upcoming carnival, examination and retest dates.

THE winter blues have officially been shaken off if this past weekend at Winklespruit Surf Lifesaving Club is any indication.

The club was a hive of activity starting on Friday evening with the refreshment centre well supported with host Mike ‘Smiley Face’ T providing some tasty snacks.

Saturday was the rugby with members enjoying the SA win over the Scots with a great evening being had by all with the refreshments and catering being top-class.

Sunday saw members turning out in numbers with nipper training in full swing and it was good to see John Farren back helping with nipper training. The juniors and seniors were training under the watchful eye of Dean Marais and the LA class doing their training with club captain Gareth Hazell. The duty squad was at full strength and diligent as normal. The weather certainly played its part and a lot of bright pink bodies were to be seen. The day was enjoyed by all.

Good luck to Gareth Hazell and Gene Prato as they make their way down to Craddock to compete in the Fish River Canoe Marathon this coming weekend.
