Nippers to focus on swimming ahead of exams

Nippers to note that the first round of examinations will take place on Sunday, 6 December.

THE past weekend was a quiet one for the Winklespruit Surf Lifesaving Club now that the Rugby World Cup is over but Sunday made up for it with a beautiful day at Winklespruit Beach.

Once again there was a fantastic turnout from the nippers and a good training session was had in great conditions with a two hour training session in the sea.

That’s what it is about, with everyone happy that running was kept to a minimum. Rumour has it that many had an afternoon nap. Nippers are to note that the first round of examinations will take place on Sunday, 6 December so concentrate on your swimming. Parents are also urged to diarise Saturday, 12 December for the Christmas party and sleepover.

The seniors attended the second lifesaving carnival in Durban where some great results were obtained. Gene Prato: 1st single ski, 2nd iron man and 3rd board; Demi Mason 1st flags and Gareth Hazell third flags.

The Halloween party was a great success and the club thanks sponsors of the prizes, Splash Water World and Hairy Fairy for their support. This Sunday eight members will be doing their junior and senior lifesaving examinations. Good luck to all.

See you on the beach.
