CONGRATULATIONS to Doug and Lynn Joubert as well as Linden and Heather Cooper, who won their two games on Sunday, and will play round seven of the Port Natal Oppenheimer mixed pairs at Toti Bowling Club on Sunday, 30 April.
Good bowling to them.
Well done to Talla Stephens-Viviers and Gustav Somers who got through to round five, before sadly being eliminated.
In the women’s drawn pairs, Jeanne Alexander and Marie van der Walt beat Sue Welch and Debbie Gueffroy; and Pam Chalder-Royle and Margaret van Belkum defeated Doreen Salmond and Joan van Rensburg.
In the men’s interclub league, Toti A lost 2-5 to Durban B; Toti B won 5-2 over Durban C; Toti C lost 3-4 to Durban Wanderers C; Toti D lost 0-5 to Umhlanga B; Toti E lost 1-4 to Lahee Park C; and Toti F lost 0-5 to Le Domaine C. Better luck next week guys.
In the women’s trips, winners were Elaine Critchlow, Norma Raath and Maureen Griffin. In second place were Pam Chalder-Royle, Noreen Butler and Dot Liebetrau; and Jeanette Els, Wilma Richter and Sue Welch won the second session. Norma Raath won the 100 board; and Elaine Critchlow won the spider, so it was a good day for the visitors from Winklespruit.
Neville Roscoe and George Glaves won the perfect delivery men’s 2-4-2. Alan McGregor and Tony Cam were runners-up, and Barry Buckland and Vish Studinski took the second session.
Note that the potjie day due to be held on 1 May has been postponed until further notice. Forms are up for the popular Pam Golding women’s winter tournament (women’s fours) to be held on 22 and 23 June, and any donations of unwanted items will be welcome for the winter table.
The lists are on the board for the men’s senior singles as well as the men’s nominated pairs. Check the notice board for competitions due to be carded for 13 and 14 May.
At TGIF, Ian McDonald won the 100 board. Alex Clark was not in attendance when his membership number was drawn, so next week’s draw will be R600. The Damagers’ key did not turn in the lock, so next week’s lucky key will be worth R1,330.
Happy birthday greetings go this week to Anna Myburgh, Dallas Davis and Shirley-Anne Joubert. Get well to all who are sick, with a special wish to Dave Kemp who is recovering from surgery.
