Winkle BC mixed trips to be followed by social braai

JEANETTE Els, Yvonne Hooper and Norma Raath were overall winners of the women’s Warner Beach Caltex (twinkle) trips played on Wednesday, 14 June.
Second session winners were Elaine Critchlow, Estelle van der Merwe and Bessie Vergottini.
The 100 board was won by Sue Welch and the mystery prize winner was Joyce Mackrory. Jacqui Fouche won the spider.
Winkle’s fifth division team won one game and lost one against Northlands’ B team in the Port Natal men’s league seventh round. The Winkle women team played against the Hillary A team and also won one game and lost one in the third round of the Port Natal women’s league.
The attendance draw was won by Cathy du Plooy on Friday evening but as she was not present it will be a carry over. The Wheel of Fortune winners were Alan Raubenheimer and Doug Tinkler.
Friday evening’s meal was enjoyable and the turn-out as normal was good. Les and Edna John donated the delicious meal and pudding. The club sincerely thanks them. It is appreciated.
Dates to diarise include the men’s 2-4-2 which will be played on Thursdays, 22 and 29 June and the mixed Spur trips on Sunday, 25 June. There will be a bring and braai after the game where pap and gravy will be supplied. The women’s and men’s Port Natal league will be played on Saturday, 24 June. Take note the men’s games start at 1pm and the women’s games at 12.30pm.
Social bowls will be played on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Take note of the starting time for social bowls is 1.30pm for 2pm.
Norma Raath celebrates her birthday on 24 June. The club wishes her a happy birthday and may she have a blessed year ahead.
Prayers and thoughts are with Brian Pasfield and Bill Hobbs for a speedy recovery after their operations.
