Rugby club adds depth to its ranks with key signings
The club’s 1st and 2nd teams will play at the Club against Hamiltons Rugby Club from Cape Town on Wednesday, 28 February.
ETHEKWINI Refractories Amanzimtoti Rugby Club’s off season recruiting of players has been quite successful with a number of exciting signings in key positions where the club lacked depth in 2017.
The club is happy to have Jeff Harper (forwards coach) return this season.
He will bring a wealth of experience from his stint at Rovers. Pre-season training is underway with over 45 players at each training session. The boys are being put through their paces to ensure the fitness levels are of a high standard.
The club reminds all the boys who left school in 2017 that it has once again entered an U20 team into the league and would like to compete with a view of going into the top U20 league in 2019. This can only be achieved with the support of the U20 players within the community.
There is no need to travel into Durban to play rugby when there is a top Premier Division club right on one’s doorstep. U20 players are at times lured to Durban with promises that cannot be fulfilled. Amanzimtoti Rugby Club asks – why play for an U20B team in Durban when you can play at Toti with your mates and play against the same team you may play for in Durban?

The local schools night series kicks off on Friday, 09/02/2018 at the Club and every Friday therefater. Please support this tournament where a high standard of school boy rugby is played.
