The club's Owen Masinga said the match against Richards Bay was a gruelling test of strength and endurance for both sides.
IT was a brutal battle on the rugby field as Amanzimtoti Rugby Club’s U20s clashed with Richards Bay on Saturday, May 13, with both teams fighting tooth and nail for victory.
The club’s U20’s coach, Owen Masinga, said Toti came out swinging in the first half, with their forwards dominating the game with a ferocity that left the opposition reeling.

“Sphelele Xulu, known as Ox, bulldozed his way through the opposition to score Toti’s first try, and Anthony Pretorius followed suit with a ruthless display of strength,” he said.
At half-time, Toti had a commanding lead with a score of 12-3, but they were not content to rest on their laurels. Masinga said Keegan Myburgh mercilessly drove home the final blow with Toti’s last try of the game, leaving Richards Bay scrambling to catch up.
“Despite their early lead, Toti lost their focus as the game wore on, and Richards Bay seized the opportunity to fight their way back into the match. It was a brutal, no-holds-barred affair, with both teams pushing themselves to the limit in their quest for victory,” he said.
