Dubbed the toughest race in the world, the trail run is the oldest in South Africa, having started 101 years ago. Distances available include 30km and 15km races, with Bester taking part in the 15km race. The course features a 676m steep, technical ascent and quad-numbing zigzagging.

She said she has been training hard this year as she knows what to expect ahead of this mountain race as she entered and finished last year’s race.
