The other schools in the tournament were Sarel Celliers, Dundee High School, Ladysmith High School, St Dominics High School, and Ferrum High School.
Amanzimtoti High School’s Gideon Cordier, who also umpired some of the games, said his team played four games, winning two and losing two.
“Our team played very well, and it is worth noting that we had the youngest team at the tournament. All our players are in grades 8, 9, and 10. We didn’t have any grades 11 and 12,” said Cordier.
The Amanzimtoti team also featured two girls, Nasira Ismael Shaik and Sihana Naidoo. The highly decorated Sihana played in the provincial U19 team that participated in the national SA20 U19 Switch Schools tournament in Pretoria in 2025. She has also received the KZN Cricket Castle Premier award for best woman bowler for the 2025/2026 season.
