Rain fails to dampen Highlands spirit

Even though numbers were down due to the weather, we still made a profit.

It was another successful Highland Gathering hosted by the Amanzimtoti Lions Club at Hutchison Park on Saturday, 30 April despite the inclement weather.

“Even though numbers were down due to the weather, we still made a profit and the Amanzimtoti Lions Club will still go into the new year to tackle new projects for our community,” said Amanzimtoti Lions President, Carol Botha.

“Thanks to all the vendors, the pipers from all over the country, our two young singers who sang beautifully with the pipers and the judges who gave of their time for the good of piping. Last but not least, thank you to all members of the Amanzimtoti Lions Club for the hard work put into making the Highland Gathering successful and thank you to the public for braving the elements to come to the event.”

The Lions thank the following sponsors for helping to make the 52nd Highland Gathering a success: Galleria Mall, Funland Entertainment Centre, Periwinkle Florist, Illovo Nursery, Domino’s Pizza Amanzimtoti, I AM STUDIO Hair & Beauty, Shaun Stander – Mobile Model Management, Karen Wadsworth Photography, Janien Rudwick Hair and Makeup Artist, and ‘The Scarlet Veil’ by Erich Viviers of Rhythmic Arts Academy.
