Toti band works to create talent platform
The Remedy Project is on stage from 8pm to 9pm.
A Toti band has joined forces with other talented musicians, agents and managers in a bid to create awareness of the excellent talent in the province.
The Remedy Project, comprised of Sheldon De St Pern, (lead singer and song writer), Greg van Vuuren, (lead guitar), Barry De Beer, (bass guitar) and Ryan De Beer (drums) will host ‘a day of the bands’, where they and 11 more top local bands will perform a 12 hour marathon concert.
The concert takes place at Escombe Sports Club in Queensburgh from noon to midnight on Saturday, 12 November.
“This includes a mini ‘battle of the bands’ for newcomers to the music scene,” said band manager, Linda Hide.
“Joining us on the day will be some top-class entertainers, who will enjoy the exposure and we expect this day to be a huge success.
“If you wish you can be part of this project, which is geared towards helping to grow and support some very talented musicians by guiding and aiding the next steps in their quest for stardom, then consider providing a donation.”
The following are some of the donations which are needed: Prizes of any kind or prizes related to the music industry.
Vouchers of any kind would be most welcome for the runners-up, and even sponsorships for the band that wins (by the crowd’s votes on the day).
Monetary donations will be collected and added together to give to the winning new band to do a recording of one or hopefully more of their own original songs to send out to radio stations and more.
Should you wish to know more about the legalities and how monetary sponsorship works, call Linda on 076-335-8759.
A cover charge of R60 per person will go towards the cost of the event.
