FRIDAY, 1 DECEMBER: Probus Amanzimtoti Christmas lunch and party takes place at Amanzimtoti Golf Club in Athlone Park from 11.30am to 3pm.

FRIDAY, 1 DECEMBER to SUNDAY, 3 DECEMBER: Khanya Hospice Summer Fair at DSB municipal grounds in Craigieburn with lots of entertainment for all visitors, young and old, including the Khanya Has Talent showcase, great food stalls, activities all day, a fun fair, Radio Hindvani broadcast and celebrities in attendance. SATURDAY, 2 DECEMBER: White elephant sale at St Wins Methodist Church in Morton Road, Warner Beach at 6am. There will be all sorts for sale, including electric appliances, pots, plastic goods, ornaments, toys, CDs, DVDs, paintings, wall posters, jewellery, lots of clothing, curtains, duvet covers, blankets, tools galore, Christmas decor and a few Christmas trees. Gates open at 6am, get there early or miss out. Boerewors rolls will be on sale. Support the church, as the roof needs urgent repairs.

SATURDAY, 2 DECEMBER: Jona Vaughan Home for the Mentally Challenged has its AGM at 1.30pm. The AGM is for the Jona Vaughan Parents Association. For more information, call principal Fiona Anderson on 031-903-2111.

SATURDAY, 2 DECEMBER: A flea market and car boot sale will be held at Winklespruit Bowling Club, 50 Gus Brown Avenue, starting at 7am. This will also be a Christmas market with lots of decorations and ornaments. For more information, call Sandy on 082-466-6480.

SUNDAY, 3 DECEMBER: The next full moon beach walk starts at 6pm. The walk starts from Baggies Beach (Warner Beach) to Winklespruit Beach and back. All are welcome to join in. TUESDAY, 5 DECEMBER: The next meeting of the women of Toti WI will be the Christmas party at Giselle’s in Beach Road, Amanzimtoti at noon. SUNDAY, 10 DECEMBER: Illovo Helping Hands Society holds its 37th annual day for senior citizens including those suffering with cardio, renal and cancer-related health problems, starting at 9.30am at the Lower Illovo grounds. All former Illovo residents and former educators of Illovo Primary are invited to attend. Join for a fun-filled day. Sponsors are welcome to support this event. SATURDAY, 16 DECEMBER: A Christmas fair is being hosted by St Mary’s Church, 157 Kingsway Road, Warner Beach, starting at 8am. Fleamarket, arts and crafts and many others stalls available to sell your wares. There will be entertainment for adults and children too – including a jumping castle; games and face and hair art for children. Live and piped music throughout the day, tea garden and good food. Stall holders table bookings cost R100, gazebo R200 (the church supplies the table) or advertise your company by providing a banner for display. Sponsors will be acknowledged. Lions host health checks
Every second Saturday of the month, between 10am and noon, Kingsburgh Lions Club hosts free blood pressure and diabetes testing at Pick and Pay Arbour Crossing.
The next testing will be on Saturday, 9 December.

 

DUE to the seasonal unpredictability of the weather, as well as family commitments during the Christmas holidays, the Wednesday tea garden in the bird park will not operate during December and January.
Tokkie and Lynette wish all their patrons a blessed Christmas and look forward to seeing everyone again in February 2018.
