Themed “Resetting policy. Advancing the energy transition. Driving investment and inclusive growth”, the fifth annual event incorporates the KZN Investment Conference for the first time. Jointly hosted by the Automotive Business Council and eThekwini Municipality, the primary purpose of the SAAW is to serve as the definitive strategic platform for Africa’s automotive industry to shape policy, drive high-value investment, and accelerate the transition toward a sustainable energy future.

The Automotive Business Council said the major focus during this year’s event is establishing a concrete policy roadmap for South Africa’s transition toward electric and hybrid vehicles, ensuring local manufacturing remains competitive globally. One of the highlights of the four-day event will be a tour and a strategic networking event in the Prospecton vehicle manufacturing hub.

The event is expected to attract more than 5000 delegates, including government leaders, global automotive manufacturers, and trade partners, with a target to secure R95b in new investment pledges for the region.
