“It’s wrong to have water running. We are obliged to report it and if nothing is being done log a complaint to different people until something is done.”- LETTE SMITH.
REANETSE MOHLOHLO: “I do report such things on community WhatsApp groups and results have been fruitful. If we as the community can come together try to prevent such things we can take our country forward instead of seeking everything from the government.”
THE COURIER took the question to the streets to find out if they will report a water leak even if it is not affecting them personally. This is what people thought.
SHANIA MAHARAJ: “I would definitely report it. It’s not right to have such things in our communities. The country is at a level where water is also playing load-shedding on us. So we as residents need to stop water leaks.”WANDA MINI: “Most certainly I would report the matter as I always do. People in Cape Town need water and here we keep on messing with it. All people must be advised on how to report leaks.”LETTE SMITH: “It’s wrong to have water running. We are obliged to report it and if nothing is being done log a complaint to different people until something is done.”DISEBO DAEMANE: “No I won’t turn a blind eye. I will inform the ward councillor to deal with the issue. In most cases, we as residents rely on other people to report such things. We need to take responsibility to report these things.”
