Sports against crime with SAPS Booysens

Winners were Camaroon FC for soccer, GSS from Regents Park for netball and Booysens SAPS Youth Desk for volleyball.

BOOYSENS: Sports Against Crime event was held at Turffontein Primary School last month, coordinated by Cst Mathevula from SAPS Booysens Social Crime Prevention and Youth Desk.

Approximately 250 youth participated in three different sporting codes namely: soccer, netball and volleyball. The event was attended by the Booysens SAPS Station Commander, Brigadier Rangasamy, Lt Col Govender and Captain Höll. Also in attendance was CPF Chairperson Mr Thulani Mteto, coordinator of Sports and Recreation Mr Hezekiel ‘Zakes’ Movundlela and gospel singer Tsile and her vocalists.

Winners were Camaroon FC for soccer, GSS from Regents Park for netball and Booysens SAPS Youth Desk for volleyball, all received gold medals and trophies while the runners up received silver medals. Medals were also handed to Baloyi and presenter from SAPS Booysens Youth Desk for their participation and reading of poems about Crime, and to Tsile for the motivational gospel music.
