Concrete paving for the aged

The residents would like to thank the sponsors and everyone who was involved in this process.

CROWN GARDENS – Xavier Complex Village for the Aged received a concrete donation from OnTime Readymix Concrete from Booysens on Wednesday November 13.

It was a 50m² concrete. Residents were tired of the uneven paving around the village. They then collected money among themselves. The campaign was spear-headed by Jubie Mohammed and her brother Joe Ismael. “We collected R100 from residents with cars and other residents paid whatever they could. Then Afzal Ebrahim, Maximus Floring and Dan Govender, together, made this possible, they provided concrete and the workers,” explained Joe.

“Also Old Boys Soccer Club from Lenasia helped us. It was stressful for us, as the paving was terrible. Thanks to all our sponsors, May God bless them,” said Jubie.

Also manager for the village, Fikile Thusi commended the effort by the residents. “I am glad that the residents understand the words, unity and vuk’uzenzele. We cannot always wait for the government, if we can do things, why not? Thank you very much for what Joe and Jubie did for this village. I wish this can be an example to other people as well,” noted Fikile.
