Teen crashes car into tree

Emergency response officials attended to a teenage girl who crashed her vehicle into a tree.

KIBLER PARK – Emergency vehicles occupied a part of Impala Road in Kibler Park on Sunday March 30 at around 12:15 to rescue a teenager who had just crashed her vehicle.

A 19-year-old girl sustained minor injuries in the accident that occurred after she lost control of her blue Ford Figo, veered off the road and crashed into a tree head-on.

JMPD, ER24, a tow truck and Johannesburg Fire Department officials were on scene, all working together to safely remove the teenager out of the badly damaged vehicle without causing further injuries. Although she did not complain of pain, ER24 paramedics took the necessary precautionary measures when transporting her to the ambulance.

The victim was transported to Mulbarton Hospital and some of her family members accompanied her. Although her family were emotional when they watched her being strategically removed from the vehicle, they were relieved that she was alive.

JMPD officers waited for confirmation from family members left behind whether they would require the assistance of JMPD to tow the vehicle, or if they had already made arrangements with the tow truck driver who waited patiently hoping for some business.

The scene was quickly cleared, although skid marks could still be seen on the pavement, starting from where the teenager lost control of her vehicle.
