Waste collection services during heritage day

All garden sites will remain open until 13h00, during the public holiday for the disposal of only light garden refuse, electronic waste and recyclable item

JOHANNEBURG – Pikitup, the City of Johannesburg’s waste management entity, would like to inform the Joburg residents and business owners that services during the Public Holiday on Wednesday September 24 (Heritage Day) will consist of:

  • Business and Domestic Refuse Collection;
  • Collection of recyclable waste in all participating areas;
  • Street cleaning in the Johannesburg CBD and Alexandra areas only;
  • All garden sites will remain open until 13:00, during the public holiday for the disposal of only light garden refuse, electronic waste and recyclable items; and
  • All builders’ rubble can be disposed free of charge at any of the following landfill sites, namely Robinson Deep, Goudkoppies and Marie Louise.
