An appeal to all existing blood donors or new potential donors
JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – South African National Blood Service is hoping that you will add the gift of life to your list and donate blood at least once over this period during the festive season.
In fact, the festive season is a busy period for many, and shopping for holiday treats and gifts are amongst the highest on many people’s lists.
“We are appealing to all existing blood donors or new potential donors that reside in Southdale areas to visit the donor centre and donate a life-saving unit of blood to give someone another chance at life with their family this festive season,” said Kamantha Pillay from the South African National Blood Service.
To become a blood donor you need to be: between the ages of 16 and 65, weigh more than 50kg; be in good health; consider your blood safe for transfusion to a patient and lead a sexually safe lifestyle.
