Manny de Freitas Foundation hosts successful Breast Cancer Awareness event

The monthly breakfasts are bringing a greater awareness about cancer and how it can be overcome.

JOHANNESBURG – The Rusty Lady Bistro in Kensington was a sea of pink as the Manny de Freitas Foundation (MdFF) hosted its Breast Cancer Awareness Breakfast.

The over 50 ladies that supported this initiative ensured that this opportunity was used to bring awareness to the fact that cancer can touch any woman irrespective of age.

In keeping with the theme of the breakfast, a breast cancer survivor, Debbie Galanis addressed everyone with her emotional and life-changing story of victory over cancer. She overcame cancer not once but twice!

CEO of the MdFF, Jeanette de Freitas said that breast cancer is specific and different to other cancers as breast cancer is not only a physical condition but affects a woman’s womanhood and femininity. “Breast cancer therefore is a very intimate and difficult condition for any woman,” explained Jeanette.
