Christmas message from DA councillor

'Don’t drink and drive, I need you to be alive.' - Cllr Faeeza

I would like to reach out to all faiths or those of no faith, with a call of action. No matter who we are or where we come from, it compels all of us to reach out to those who are less fortunate. Our poor, our sick, our neighbours, our children, those who will not have any income due to recession.

To me the festive season is all about giving and sharing. It always gives one a good feeling knowing that you have made a difference in someone’s life. We all have a responsibility to ourselves and to each other to make a difference that is real and lasting.

I urge our citizens this festive to start volunteering by visiting old age homes, orphanages, hospitals or just someone that you know who needs some company, cleaning or just a little chat.

Let us not forget our local SAPS members, hospital staff, firefighters, and all other organisations that work tirelessly to make sure that the community’s health, safety and well-being are taken care off during this festive season.

May I also use this opportunity to wish every citizen in Ward 57, from our youth to our elderly: let peace overcome us and let’s not forget to spread the festive cheer to those less fortunate than ourselves.

Don’t drink and drive, I need you to be alive.

I thank you.

Cllr. Faeeza Chame
