MONDEOR SAPS reports that they have, in recent months, been experiencing an escalation of crime incidents reported at Southgate shopping mall.
These crimes range from theft of motor vehicles, theft out of motor vehicles, and shoplifting incidents are also on the increase.
Residents are urged to make sure that they check and re-check whether their vehicles are locked when using an immobiliser.
“When going to the shopping centre, avoid parking your vehicle on the road. Most centres have car guards, use them,” advises Mondeor SAPS Communications Officer, Constable Sibongile E Mnguni.
Residents should be careful to always remember to lock their vehicles, even if they can see a vehicle from wherever they are at all times. Do not leave valuables visible in your vehicle.
