Time to believe in yourself

ALBERTON- The South African Council of Business Women had its official launch Wednesday April 29 at Sha-Mani. The beautiful setting set the stage for Debbie de Jager, a certified coach and speaker who was introduced by Tracy Meyjes, the chair lady.
Debbie took the ladies on a journey of thinking about the true state of their self image; a “true selfie”.
She explained that aspects such as your background, experiences, education, your faith and your choices all play a role in your self-image and how it can either take you forward or keep you back in life. Your self-image is the proverbial lid on your life.
“If you put a small value on yourself, the world will not raise the value,” she said.
Some of the ways to build your self-image would be to guard your self-talk, Debbie stresses. “Every word from your mouth is a seed you sow, and what you sow will grow. Other tips are to not compare yourself to others and to move beyond your limiting self-beliefs. Reach out to others and add value to their lives. Stick to specific goals and practice a small discipline daily in a specific area of your life, for example walking around the block every evening. Don’t let things stay on your wish list, rather take action to reach your goals.
“Embrace a positive vision for your life, based on what you value. Examine your life and change what needs to be changed. What do you want your legacy to be and start living it today.”
This is a growing forum for Alberton Business Women to share their journey of growth and form relationships.
