Hartford College receives 50 trees

School grounds beautified with donated trees at Hartford College.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – A tree planting ceremony was held at Hartford College, on May 8.

Here, 50 trees which were donated by the Post Office were planted.

“Hartford College was approached by the Post Office with a generous offer of 50 trees for our school. We were delighted and had a tree planting ceremony,” said Hartford College principal Mrs Nicola Forbes.

The Grade Three class opened the ceremony with a recital of a poem called ‘I am the earth and the earth is me’ by Jane Yolen.

Hartford College’s Grade Two and Grade Three classes assisted members of the Post Office with the planting and watering the new trees. Principal Forbes added: “Much fun was had by all and many thanks to the SA Post Office.”
