Petrol price relief for motorists in August

Motorists can expect a significant drop in the petrol price as from Wednesday August 6.

JOHANNESBURG – The Automobile Association expects the petrol price to be cut by more than 40 cents a litre from next week.

An Eyewitness News (EWN) report stated, “The Energy Department will make the announcement later today on a possible fuel price decrease.”

According to EWN, the association’s Layton Beard said this comes off the back of the oil price showing a gradual downward trend.

“We expected that the petrol prices could be lower by between 47 to 49 cents a litre, with diesel down by approximately 70 cents. We expect illuminating paraffin would also be set for a drop of around 68 cents a litre.”
