Attempted abduction of woman in Glenanda

Suspicious activity in Glenanda reported to the Comaro CHRONICLE.

GLENANDA – On Wednesday October 4 at about 17:00, a young woman in Glen Avenue, Glenanda, who was walking to catch a taxi, was approached by two African men who offered her R150 to do 10 minutes work, if she went with them.

A security man outside a place of business in the area saw a blue Toyota Tazz with three men and said he saw two get out and approach the woman. He went and told staff members inside and two of the staff got into their car and followed the African men and woman. When they got close to them, one walked away around the corner. “We told the woman ‘do you know these men could be trying to rob you’ and she told us what they had said to her about offering her money for 10 minutes work. She looked very uncomfortable and we advised she get into our car and we took her to a local taxi drop-off point. It all seemed very suspicious to us,” they told the CHRONICLE reporter..

They said they will report the incident to SAPS.
