BOOYSENS SAPS management is proud of officer Sgt Lebo Mashaba for solving two cases that led to the incarceration of armed robbers.
Case one saw the arrest of a man who drew a knife and promised to stab a Ridgeway woman who was walking in the streets if she did not hand over her handbag on Friday, April 1.
The woman obliged but screamed for help as she ran away and the community flocked out to her assistance and caught the suspect.
The suspect was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment of which four years were suspended for five years on Tuesday, September 13. The suspect was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
Case two saw the arrests of one suspect who had robbed a Turffontein man walking in the streets and took his cellphone and wallet on Saturday, September 13.
The suspect was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and declared unfit to possess a firearm on Wednesday, September 7.
