Trio back with more experience

More than 100 club houses participated in a week-long gathering.

BELLAVISTA Club House is delighted to have their three teenagers, Malcolm Botha, Jyotika Ramthol and Brandon Saal back from Boston, Massachusetts, after a week on an educational tour.

The trio went to a bi-annual event called The Clubhouse Network 2016 Teen Summit at the Museum of Science to use modern technology to solve current problems. More than 100 club houses participated in a week-long gathering.

Malcolm said it was great in Boston and he learnt a lot on computers. “I was more interested in broadcasting, I cannot wait to get a sponsor so that I can start to broadcast my own show,” he said.

Jyotika was fascinated by universities that exhibited their offerings. “It was like an open day for me as most universities advertised their courses. I was interested in project management. I want to document events. There were different programmes to choose from. I particularly liked sketches and animations. We can be able to teach more kids here back home about these programmes,” she noted.

It was graphic design that captured Brandon’s attention and he said he loved it and it is what he always wanted to do.

Club house coordinator, Salome Kanyane congratulated the trio and said she wants to thank the City of Johannesburg for offering them this opportunity to expose the youngsters to the world.

The club house offers training to both learners and young adults in the area. Some of the training includes digital programmes, mentoring and music studios, to name a few. On weekdays it is open from 09:00 to 17:00. They can be contacted on 071 361 9777.
