Woman headmaster rendezvous a success
The dinner promoted good practice in schools and was a sharing platform for women.
A WOMAN headmaster rendezvous was recently hosted by Getrude Tseki from the Department of Education and was the beginning of a networking platform for principals and their deputies to share good practice to improve performance in schools.
The dinner was held at the Thaba Eco Hotel on Friday, September 30, and set the tone for many more planned meetings. Principals from around Gauteng, from both public and independent schools, came together to network, share good practice tips and learn from one another while having fun at the same time. This kind of event is seen as a safety network for principals where they learn practical ways of management and leadership as well as to unwind after hard work. The topics under discussion at the inaugural event included high performing teams but trimmed down to ‘networking’ as a concept. Principals went home having learnt how to network effectively and how to ensure there are high performing teams in schools.
A WhatsApp group has been created to discuss and decide on potential hot topics to be discussed and shared at the next forum. Gertrude said the venue as well as the theme and dress code are some of the items currently being discussed on the WhatsApp group.
The final date, venue, dress code and topic for discussion at the next meeting will be announced soon.
