Local youth showcase their talents at launch

The launch was in Chrisville, outside the house of Clr Rashieda Landis, of ward 55.

The Johannesburg Southern District art organisation was launched in Chrisville on December 10, outside the house of Clr Rashieda Landis, of ward 55.

This event was hosted with the aim of networking with and motivating and empowering young people to become young entrepreneurs and use their talents as a tool to fight substance abuse and crime.

“The event was a great success and we would like to thank the community of Chrisville for coming out in their numbers to support us. Thank you so much to the young, positive people who showcased their talents, such as fashion design, poetry, dancing, music and modelling.

“Most importantly, we, as the South Side Media Production, in association with Umcijo Performing Arts, would like to take the opportunity to honour Clr Rashida Landis and Pastor Alexander Iheme, the manager of Believers Care Society, as well as Anthony, of Stella Marris Pre-school for sponsoring the event.

“Great gratitude also goes to the organisations that attended our event – SANCA, Ke Moja, Intsika-The Pillar, Nostalgic Native, Legacy BAND, Films, Pipz White, Believers Care Society, Touches and Full Gospel Church. This event would have not been possible without your effort, belief, determination and love of art,” said Sindi Ntwayaborwa.
