Electricity meters get some attention

“Once Aspen Hills meters have all been addressed, townhouse complexes throughout ward 23 will be next and then individual homes. It will take time, but, ultimately, it will be a job well done. Prepaid meters are a great way to go."

LIVION Gosho and Witness Kunyadaro, meter maintenance installation workers from City Power, were out and about in Aspen Hills last Wednesday, March 15.

They were checking all the meters in the estate, including smart meters, analogue meters and prepaid meters.

Ward 23 councillor, Sarah Wissler, was there accompanying them.

Different colour stickers were used on the various meters: green (working 100 per cent), red (needs replacing) and gold (faulty but can be fixed).

“Once Aspen Hills meters have all been addressed, townhouse complexes throughout ward 23 will be next, and then individual homes. It will take time, but, ultimately, it will be a job well done.

“Prepaid meters are a great way to go. The cost involved to change from a smart meter to prepaid is R450. If anyone in my ward needs any assistance regarding changing meters or having one installed, they can phone me on 083 256 3453,” Wissler said.
