Police take safety messages to the community
Communities were encouraged to collaborate with police to fight and reduce the levels of crime.
THE Mondeor SAPS, sector patrollers and the Community Policing Forum held various operations over the Easter weekend in different sectors of the policing area, to raise awareness about hijackings.
The patrollers urged residents to refrain from parking and sitting in their cars outside their properties as hijackings mostly take place in driveways and outside properties.
According to the Mondeor SAPS spokesperson, Captain Nokulunga Dube, communities were encouraged to form a strong partnership with the police in fighting and reducing the levels of crime, and were encouraged to report any criminal activities to Crime Stop on 08600 10111
The station commander of Mondeor SAPS, Colonel JJ Bezuidenhoudt, applauded his members and the community for working together, especially over the Easter weekend, and for dedicating their time to ensure the safety of the area and community.
