Sheffield’s murderer gets 35 years

He was sentenced to 35 years on the charge of murder of a local elderly lady.

SIBANDA Mqobile, the accused in the murder of Roseacre resident Marcia May Sheffield (80), was recently sentenced to 35 years in jail, having been found guilty of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances.

He was sentenced to 20 years on the charge of murder and a further 15 for robbery with aggravating circumstances.

Sheffield was murdered in her Henderson Road home on June 10, last year, and Mqobile was arrested after he was found hiding in a closet. The case was assigned to Detective Sergeant Sakhile Hlatswayo of the Moffat View SAPS.
