SOJO cleans up in the South

Although the SOJO operations team only consists of three workers, two of whom are ladies who have never before attempted this type of extreme cleanup, the work accomplished reflects that of about ten experienced workers.

A MAJOR shift in service delivery, with a new creative approach to visibly improve neglected areas in the South, was seen when a team from SOJO Business and Tourism, went out to clean up.

CLEANUP ON SWARTKOPPIES: An operations team from SOJO recently cleaned up the island opposite Mall of the South.

With brush cutters and tools sponsored by Mall of the South, De Beers, Gold Reef City and Robot Hardware, SOJO’s operations team were able to remove the ugly, dry, overgrown grass and weeds from the island and sidewalks, sweep gravel and pick up litter in Booysens Road island from April 3 to 21. This area has never received attention from council in the past twenty years. During the last week in April, the SOJO team moved their operations to Swartkoppies Road island opposite the Mall of the South.

BOOYSENS GETS A CLEANUP: SOJO’s ops team gets to work.

Although the SOJO operations team only consists of three workers, two of whom are ladies who have never before attempted this type of extreme cleanup, the work accomplished reflects that of about ten experienced workers. SOJO is very proud of the visibility of their hard work and now visitors travelling to the South of Joburg can also experience the difference and feel safe in the newly cleaned up area.

LOOKING MUCH BETTER: After the cleanup in Booysens.

Keep a lookout for other areas in the South which will receive the same treatment. SOJO’s vision is to bring the business community to “Work together for a Better South”. If you are interested in finding out more about
