WATCH: Hank survives horrific start in life
The SPCA saved the dog from a painful death.
HANK is a pitbull-cross puppy which was found by the Johannesburg SPCA, around November last year (2016), facing death.
Inspector Gideon Morar was one of the inspectors who found Hank in the Orange Farm area after responding to a callout.

According to Morar, they believe that Hank’s owner was a security guard who abandoned him in a back room to live with little to no food and in his own urine and faeces.
WATCH:
When Hank was found, the puppy had the worst case of tick infestation that the inspectors had ever seen. It was malnourished, weak, covered in flies and had a terrible skin condition.

“Hank was also found with little to no blood, as he was infested with ticks and his immune system was compromised. It took about four months of Hank being in and out of hospital for him to reach good health,” said Morar.
WATCH:
While in the care of the SPCA, Hank was fed high nutrition foods, and was vaccinated, sterilized and chipped – just like all the dogs at the SPCA.

Animals are given up for many reasons, but when they are adopted, they have to become a part of the family and this is what the SPCA will look at, should a family want to adopt Hank.
Hank is now around two years old and is looking for a good home. The dog is now completely healthy, well behaved, always full of energy and loves people. After visiting Hank, the CHRONICLE can confirm that this is indeed a delightful dog that deserves love, attention and a good family.
