Parade for Mary Help of Christians

It was wonderful to see the participation of young and old in this event.

THE Feast of Mary Help of Christians was celebrated at St John Bosco Catholic Church, Robertsham on May 20.

The statue of Mary Help of Christians was adorned with beautiful flowers and carried in procession by the youth of the parish. Parishioners proceeded through the streets of Robertsham singing hymns and reciting the Rosary. A giant Rosary was made out of balloons, which were later released into the air to float through the Johannesburg sky.

This Feast Day is celebrated annually in the Catholic Church. St John Bosco, patron Saint of this Parish, had a great devotion towards Mary Help of Christians and dedicated a church in her name in Turin, Italy.
