AT 4.30am on Tuesday, May 30, a robbery took place in Jeanine Avenue, Bassonia.
Members from Glenvista Community Forum responded to the call. No one was harmed, but quite a few items were stolen.
“At 5.04am we responded to an accident on the corner of Oudeberg Street and Mount Pellan Drive, Bassonia, where the driver of a white Polo said he had had to avoid hitting another vehicle and had run into a tree,” said Bruce Lennox, from the Glenvista Community Forum. According to an eyewitness who was driving his bakkie in Oudeberg Street, two men jumped over a wall, narrowly missing his vehicle, and ran off.
Mondeor SAPS were called to the scene and questioned the driver of the Polo. It’s alleged he had no car licence nor his driver’s licence on him at the time of the accident. It’s not known at this time if the driver of the Polo could have been involved in suspicious activity.
The two suspects who were involved in the robbery are still at large .
