Aspen Hills residents support the Cape

"We made an appeal to our residents on Friday morning to donate food, water, clothes, toys, blankets, towels and other goods to our fellow countrymen in need."

In response to the devastation in Cape Town and Knysna areas, Aspen Hills displayed love and generosity. Great things can be achieved when we all stand together – this was proven in Aspen over the weekend.

This is the worst disaster the Southern Cape has seen. We made an appeal to our residents on Friday morning to donate food, water, clothes, toys, blankets, towels and other goods to our fellow countrymen in need. Arrangements were made for the Care of the Givers to do a first collection on June 10, and the response we had was overwhelming. A second collection for Operation Hydrate was completed on Sunday afternoon. In total three truckloads of goods were donated by our community. The warmth and love shown by Aspen residents was incredible.

Thank you to our community for the support and thank you to individual residents, Kaylash Naidoo and Vishal Nana, who helped to co-ordinate the effort.

Andrea Scott, marketing Aspen Hills.
